I reached a crossroads in life, as you sometimes do, last year when I turned 50. Having recently rediscovered a love of art after a gap of 20 or so years, I decided that I wanted to spend more time at it. So, after a lifetime of mundane full-time work, I decided to go part-time to enable me to devote more time to my passion; drawing and painting. At this point, I should add that it wouldn't have been possible without the support and encouragement from my partner Loraine.
I joined Adur Art Club in February 2011 and was fortunate enough to sell two pieces of work as a result of their summer exhibition. Then in March of 2012 I became a member of the Shoreham Gallery, a collective of local artists.
It would be difficult to say which medium I prefer to work in. I suppose it all depends upon the subject matter and which would work best for a particular subject. One area that does interest me is the use of coloured pencils. I am still trying to work them out and hope to put more examples of them on this website in the near future.
